My manual about flying with a dog to Costa Rica is out!!!

How to prepare an IATA approved dog crate for flying to Costa Rica.

How We Safely Flew Our Dog from Slovakia to Costa Rica (Without Delays, Fines, or Unnecessary Stress)

When you decide to change your life from scratch, the biggest test isn’t packing the suitcases. It’s the logistics that protect the ones you love most.

When we decided to take that massive leap into the unknown, leave the past behind, and build our Free in Eden in the tropics, I knew our journey wouldn’t be easy. But while finding a new rhythm in the jungle and homeschooling our three kids were challenges I had mentally prepared for, one thing kept me awake for months.

Our dog.

The thought of loading our four-legged family member onto a transatlantic flight lasting over 10 hours truly terrified me. I was scared to death of making a single tiny mistake in the paperwork. I feared being stopped at a layover airport in Europe, or that our dog would be thrown into quarantine upon arrival in San José due to an incorrect stamp from the vet.

The internet was full of conflicting information, outdated forums, and generic advice that completely failed to address the reality of a flight from Central Europe to Latin America.

That’s why we had to pave the way ourselves—step by step.

We made it. Our pup arrived completely fine, safe, and without a single complication at customs. We successfully navigated the chaotic logistics, the strict IATA regulations for travel crates, and the specific requirements of the Costa Rican animal health service (SENASA).

After landing, it was clear to me that I couldn’t keep this knowledge to myself. I know what it’s like to wake up in the middle of the night in a panic, wondering if you have the right veterinary certificate format.

I wrote this 16-page practical manual so you don’t have to guess anymore. Inside, you’ll find raw facts, real photos of our preparation, exact checklists, and a proven process that works.

Because the journey to freedom tastes so much sweeter when you know your furry best friend is safe right by your side.
